Over the past few weeks, the municipality of L’Isle-aux-Allumettes, in collaboration with the MRC Pontiac and the Ministère des Affaires municipales et de l’Habitation, thanks to the Fonds régions et ruralité’s Soutien à la compétence de développement local et régional des MRC component, has invited its citizens to submit community project ideas for funding ranging from $2,000 to $20,000. Eligible projects fall into one or more of the following categories: tourism, culture, economic growth, agriculture, socio-community or environment. We received a total of 15 projects submitted by the community! All submitted projects have been evaluated and selected by a committee of volunteers, and a public vote to select the winning project.
Following the public vote, we are delighted to announce the winning project:
A generator for the Harrington Community Centre. The installation of a generator in this location will ensure the continuation of services and activities during future power outages
and may serve as a central location in the event of an emergency situation.
Thank you to everyone who submitted project ideas and for all those that voted! Your participation will go along way in the development of this and future community projects.
