Hydro-Québec has planned a power outage for December 16th from 7am until 4pm that will affect 400 customers in our area.
Based on the information provided by Hydro-Québec:
The village of Chapeau, Culbute Road, River Rd, and few customers in Chichester (Pembroke Rd near the bridge) will experience outages from 7:00am–4:00pm.
Customers should expect automated calls from Hydro-Quebec alerting them of the upcoming outage.
In the event of a postponement, the outage will take place on December 17th.
Hydro-Quebec will be providing generators for both schools in the village of Chapeau for the duration of the outage. Some customers near the schools may experience a short outage on Monday December 15th between 6pm-8pm while these generators are connected.
Hydro-Quebec teams will be replacing poles and performing equipment repairs during this period.
While the Municipality does not support the timing of these works during the winter period, Hydro-Québec has indicated that the interruption is necessary to complete planned upgrades to the regional electrical network.
For residents needing a hot coffee, a warm space or a place to charge devices, the municipal office and St-Joseph Hall will be open for the duration of the outages.
To reach the municipal office please call 819-689-1156
We thank residents for their patience and understanding.
