Welcome to L’Isle-aux-Allumettes! It is with great honor that, on behalf of our residents, I wish you the warmest of welcomes to our municipality.
Surrounded by the Ottawa River, the hamlets of Desjardinsville, Demers Centre, St-Joseph, the village of Chapeau and all the rural areas that surround them are the homes of all the hard-working people who make up our community.
We’re a small municipality with great opportunities to explore hidden treasures and enjoy fun activities, with something for everyone. Surrounded by water and with the Laurentians on our doorstep, we’re fortunate to live in a paradise for outdoor enthusiasts.
Hobbies such as fishing, hiking, water sports or simply a quiet walk in nature with your loved ones are examples of the many things we take for granted on a daily basis.
So, whether you’re visiting a relative or just passing through, take the time to explore all that our ‘Isle’ has to offer! Who knows, you might decide to stay a little longer…
