{"id":190968,"date":"2026-08-06T15:09:42","date_gmt":"2026-08-06T19:09:42","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pontiacouest.ca\/?p=190968"},"modified":"2026-08-06T15:18:50","modified_gmt":"2026-08-06T19:18:50","slug":"brouillon-auto-17","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pontiacouest.ca\/en\/brouillon-auto-17\/","title":{"rendered":"BY-ELECTION \u2013 Municipality of Chichester"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Important Dates<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Nomination Period: August 7\u201321, 2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><a href=\"https:\/\/www.electionsquebec.qc.ca\/en\/get-involved\/running-for-office\/\" data-type=\"link\" data-id=\"https:\/\/www.electionsquebec.qc.ca\/en\/get-involved\/running-for-office\/\"><strong>Running for office<\/strong><\/a><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Eligibility requirements:<\/strong><br>Eligibility means the right to run as a candidate for a seat on the municipal council.<br>In order to be eligible, you must:<br>be eligible to be registered on the list of electors of the municipality<br>by meeting all of the following criteria on polling day:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>be at least 18 years of age;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>have Canadian citizenship;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>not have lost your right to vote because of tutorship;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>not have been convicted of a corrupt electoral practice within the<br>previous five years;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>be in one of the following situations:<br>\u2013 be domiciled in the territory of the municipality and have been<br>domiciled in Qu\u00e9bec for at least six months;<br>\u2013 own a building or occupy a business establishment located on the<br>territory of the municipality for at least 45 days on polling day;<br>reside in the territory of municipality when filing your nomination paper;<br>not be in a situation of ineligibility.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Advance Poll: September 13, 2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Election Day: September 20, 2026<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Voting by Mail<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Eligible electors whose domicile is outside the Municipality may apply to vote by mail.
