This senior administrative role is responsible for overseeing municipal operations, implementing Council decisions, and leading municipal staff and services. The Director General acts as the Municipality\u2019s chief administrative officer, ensuring the efficient, lawful, and effective delivery of services while supporting Council in governance, planning, and community development.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Key Responsibilities<\/strong><\/p>\n<ol>\n<li><strong> Municipal Leadership and Administration<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>Act as chief administrative officer of the Municipality<\/li>\n<li>Oversee all municipal operations and services<\/li>\n<li>Ensure implementation of Council decisions, bylaws, and priorities<\/li>\n<li>Provide leadership and supervision to municipal staff<\/li>\n<li>Maintain effective administrative and operational efficiency<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol start=\"2\">\n<li><strong> Council Support and<\/strong><strong> Governance<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>Prepare and coordinate Council agendas, meetings, and supporting documentation<\/li>\n<li>Ensure accurate drafting and review of resolutions, bylaws, reports, and minutes (as applicable)<\/li>\n<li>Advise Council on administrative, financial, and operational matters<\/li>\n<li>Ensure compliance with all applicable municipal legislation and regulations<\/li>\n<li>Oversee official municipal records and statutory obligations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol start=\"3\">\n<li><strong> Financial and<\/strong><strong> Contractual Oversight<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>Oversee municipal financial management<\/li>\n<li>Ensure proper administration of contracts, procurement processes, and service agreements<\/li>\n<li>Monitor budgets, expenditures, and financial reporting obligations<\/li>\n<li>Support Council in financial planning and long-term sustainability<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol start=\"4\">\n<li><strong> Strategic Planning and Project Management<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>Lead or coordinate major municipal projects and strategic initiatives<\/li>\n<li>Oversee intermunicipal cooperation and shared service initiatives<\/li>\n<li>Ensure proper monitoring of project timelines, deliverables, and funding requirements<\/li>\n<li>Prepare reports and recommendations for Council decision-making<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ol start=\"5\">\n<li><strong> Representation<\/strong><strong> and<\/strong><strong> External<\/strong><strong> Relations<\/strong><\/li>\n<\/ol>\n<ul>\n<li>Represent the Municipality as delegated by Council<\/li>\n<li>Liaise with government ministries, agencies, MRCs, partners, and stakeholders<\/li>\n<li>Maintain professional relationships with external organizations and service providers<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Qualifications and Requirements<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>University or college degree in public administration, municipal management, business administration, or equivalent experience<\/li>\n<li>Experience in municipal administration or senior management role is an asset<\/li>\n<li>Strong knowledge of municipal governance and applicable legislation<\/li>\n<li>Excellent leadership, communication, and organizational skills<\/li>\n<li>Ability to manage multiple priorities in a dynamic environment<\/li>\n<li>High level of discretion, professionalism, and integrity<\/li>\n<li>Bilingual (French and English), spoken and written<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><strong>\u00a0<\/strong><\/p>\n<p><strong>Working Conditions<\/strong><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Full-time position<\/li>\n<li>Compensation based on experience and qualifications<\/li>\n<li>Municipal office environment with occasional evening meetings<\/li>\n<li>Requirement to attend Council meetings and public sessions<\/li>\n<li>Availability outside regular hours as required for municipal operations<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p>Interested candidates should send their application to the Municipal Office by e-mail or to the address below, on or <strong><u>before August 12 at 4pm. <\/u><\/strong><\/p>\n<p>\u00a0<\/p>\n<p><em>Municipality of Waltham<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>General Director<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>69<\/em><em> H\u00f4tel<\/em><em>-de-Ville Road QC J0X 3H0<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>Email: <\/em><a href=\"mailto:municipalite.waltham@mrcpontiac.qc.ca\">municipalite.waltham@mrcpontiac.qc.ca<\/a><\/p>\n<p><em>Telephone: 819-689-2057<\/em><\/p>\n<p><em>\u00a0<\/em><\/p>\n<p>We thank all interested candidates; however, only those selected for an interview will be contacted ONLY.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>DIRECTOR GENERAL PERMANENT POSITION Municipality of Waltham \u00a0 Position Overview The Municipality of Waltham is seeking a qualified professional to serve as Director General (DG) on a permanent basis.
