{"id":190387,"date":"2026-06-23T16:10:53","date_gmt":"2026-06-23T20:10:53","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pontiacouest.ca\/?p=190387"},"modified":"2026-06-23T16:10:56","modified_gmt":"2026-06-23T20:10:56","slug":"brouillon-auto-11","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pontiacouest.ca\/en\/brouillon-auto-11\/","title":{"rendered":"PUBLIC NOTICE Shared Municipal Services Initiative"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\"><strong>Implementation of Shared Waste Management Services<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">PUBLIC NOTICE is hereby given to the residents and property owners of the municipalities of L\u2019Isle-aux-Allumettes, Chichester, and Sheenboro that the municipalities are continuing the implementation of a collaborative Shared Services Initiative aimed at improving the sustainability, efficiency, and reliability of municipal services throughout the Upper Pontiac region.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As part of the first phase of implementation, the municipalities are proceeding with the establishment of a shared waste transfer site service model, with a planned implementation date of July 1, 2026, subject to the adoption of the required Intermunicipal Agreement and any necessary approvals.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">As part of the transition process:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The Municipality of Sheenboro has already closed its municipal transfer site;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The Municipality of Chichester is currently planning its final regular day of operation for June 27, 2026; and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>The participating municipal councils are expected to formally consider the proposed Intermunicipal Agreement during their respective June 2026 council meetings.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Residents are advised that additional information regarding:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Transfer site operations;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Accepted materials;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Applicable fees;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Hours of operation;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Recycling and waste management requirements;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Operational procedures; and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Transition arrangements<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">will be made available through the municipalities\u2019 official websites, public notices, and other communication channels.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">Current garbage, recycling, and organics collection services will continue in accordance with municipal collection schedules and applicable municipal by-laws. Residents are strongly encouraged to make full use of existing collection services where available. Municipalities also encourage residents to maximize waste diversion efforts and reduce non-essential trips to transfer sites whenever possible.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The objective of the project is to harmonize municipal tools, procedures, and operations among the participating municipalities and to promote the sharing of certain municipal services, including:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Public Works Services;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Waste Management Services; and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Municipal Administrative Services.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The initiative also aims to:<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Improve administrative efficiency;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Promote professionalization and staff specialization;<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Improve service coordination and operational reliability; and<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>Enhance the quality, accessibility, and long-term sustainability of municipal services for residents.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The municipalities also wish to inform residents that the broader Shared Services Initiative will include an independent third-party study examining the benefits, challenges, and potential impacts of a possible municipal amalgamation.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p class=\"wp-block-paragraph\">The municipalities wish to clearly emphasize that undertaking this study does not mean that a municipal amalgamation has been decided.
