{"id":186556,"date":"2025-09-05T15:33:28","date_gmt":"2025-09-05T19:33:28","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pontiacouest.ca\/?p=186556"},"modified":"2025-10-27T14:14:51","modified_gmt":"2025-10-27T18:14:51","slug":"public-notice-of-the-elections","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pontiacouest.ca\/en\/public-notice-of-the-elections\/","title":{"rendered":"Public Notice of Elections"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Municipalities of L\u2019Isle-aux-Allumettes and Chichester<\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Election Date: November 2, 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By this public notice, Alicia Jones, Returning Officer, announces the following to the electors of the Municipality of Chichester and the Municipality of L\u2019Isle-aux-Allumettes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>The following positions are open for nominations:<br><strong>Mayor and Councillors for Seats 1\u20132\u20133\u20134\u20135 and 6<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Any nomination for one of these positions must be submitted to the office of the Returning Officer during the following days and hours:<br><strong>From Friday, September 19 to Friday, October 3, 2025:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>9:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m.<\/li>\n\n\n\n<li>1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>On <strong>Friday, October 3, 2025<\/strong>, the office will be open continuously from <strong>9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If more than one person is nominated for the same position, you may exercise your right to vote at your assigned polling station on the following dates:<br><strong>Advance Voting Day:<\/strong> Sunday, October 26, 2025, from 12:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m.<br><strong>Election Day:<\/strong> Sunday, November 2, 2025, from 10:00 a.m. to 8:00 p.m.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>If you are unable to travel for health reasons and are registered on the electoral list as a resident voter, you may, up to <strong>October 21, 2025<\/strong>, request that the Returning Officer allow you to vote from your room in a recognized health facility or from your home within the municipality. The same applies to your caregiver.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>You may vote by mail if your domicile is <strong>outside<\/strong> the municipality.
