{"id":185522,"date":"2025-09-05T15:31:50","date_gmt":"2025-09-05T19:31:50","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/pontiacouest.ca\/?p=185522"},"modified":"2025-09-05T15:31:52","modified_gmt":"2025-09-05T19:31:52","slug":"public-notice-of-election","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/pontiacouest.ca\/en\/public-notice-of-election\/","title":{"rendered":"Public notice of Election"},"content":{"rendered":"\n<h2 class=\"wp-block-heading\"><strong>Municipalities of <u>Chichester and L\u2019Isle-aux-Allumettes<\/u>\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0\u00a0 <\/strong><\/h2>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Polling day: November 2<sup>nd<\/sup>, 2025<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>By this public notice, Alicia Jones, the Returning Officer announces the following to the voters of the Municipality of Chichester and the Municipality of L\u2019Isle-aux-Allumettes.<\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>The following seats are open for candidates:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>Mayor and Councillors of Seats 1, 2, 3, 4, 5 and 6<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>Any nomination papers for one of these seats must be filed at the office of the Returning Officer on the following days and times:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>From Friday, September 19<sup>th<\/sup> to Friday, October 3<sup>rd<\/sup>, 2025:<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; from 9:00 to 12:00&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp;&nbsp; from 13:00 to 15:00<\/p>\n\n\n\n<p><strong>On Friday, October 3<sup>rd<\/sup>, 2025, the office will be open continuously from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m.<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>If more than one person wishes to be a candidate for the same seat, you may exercise your voting right by going to your assigned polling station on the following dates, times:<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n\n\n\n<p>Advance polling day: <strong>Sunday, October 26<sup>th<\/sup>, 2025, from 12pm-8pm<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<p>Polling day: <strong>Sunday, November 2<sup>nd<\/sup>, 2025, from 10am \u2013 8pm<\/strong><\/p>\n\n\n\n<figure class=\"wp-block-table\"><table class=\"has-fixed-layout\"><tbody><tr><td><a>If you are unable to come to the polling station for health reasons and are registered on the electoral list as a domiciled person, you may, until October 21, 2025, request from your returning officer to <\/a><strong>vote in your room<\/strong> located in a recognized health care facility <strong>or at your home, <\/strong>located within the Municipality. The same applies to your caregiver.<\/td><\/tr><\/tbody><\/table><\/figure>\n\n\n\n<ul class=\"wp-block-list\">\n<li>You may vote by mail <strong>if your domicile is not within the territory<\/strong> of the municipality.
